Managed Admission

What is Managed Admission and why do I need to make an appointment to surrender my pet?

The Sacramento SPCA believes in helping the greatest number of animals with our available resources, which is why the shelter moved to a managed admission process on September 7, 2016.  This change will help regulate the flow of incoming animals, allowing the Sacramento SPCA staff to give more individualized attention to both the animals and the people surrendering them.

#Share for Shelters
Share photos of pets you love or those in need of adoption and help support the Sacramento SPCA

The Sacramento SPCA is joining Bayer Animal Health in the second annual Share for Shelters campaign to highlight the bond between people and pets, while benefiting shelters across the country.

To show their gratitude to shelter partners across the country, Bayer is contributing $30,000 to participating shelters, and you can help us receive part of this contribution.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Receive fixed payments for life while saving the animals!

A Charitable Gift Annuity is a time-tested method that many donors use to both give and receive. In addition to making a “planned gift” to the Sacramento SPCA’s endowment at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, a Charitable Gift Annuity will create an immediate income tax deduction and generate fixed income for life. After your lifetime, the remainder in the account will be transferred to the Sacramento SPCA’s endowment on your behalf.
