Love on Loan

Many individuals are unable to have pets in their lives and miss the companionship and joy an animal can provide. They may be residents of an assisted living facility, patients in a hospital or rehab center, children living in a receiving home, or even college students who need to de-stress during a heavy finals schedule. Regular visits from furry friends through the Sacramento SPCA’s Love on Loan program can make all the difference in someone’s life.

Doggy Dash 2020
Registration is now open!

Doggy Dash is Going Virtual on Saturday, June 27!

The health and safety of our community continues to be our top priority so we have “releashed” this year’s Doggy Dash into a new VIRTUAL experience! We are now able to stay connected online to help the thousands of animals that come to us for help, especially during these unprecedented times.

What is a Virtual Walk and Bark in the Park Festival?

On Saturday, June 27th, we’ll be taking the Doggy Dash online, but what does this mean exactly? Just because we won’t be walking side by side, doesn’t mean we can’t still walk together to save more lives!

On June 27, join us virtually for a walk ‘your way’:

Walk around your neighborhood with your furry friends.
Lace up and leash up at a local park or hiking trail.
Get your steps in at home on a treadmill, your backyard or a fun in-home obstacle course.
Get creative and get moving any way you’d like to support the Sacramento SPCA on June 27.

We will be kicking off the walk LIVE on Facebook and you will be able to share your photos, videos and participate in activities throughout the day!

Bark in the Park Festivities are still on!

After your 2k/5k walk, join us throughout the day for our first ever Virtual Vendor Fair, popular Bark in the Park contests, prizes and more! Stay tuned for more information for the day’s activities. We will be tracking all the fun using the hashtag: #DASHRELEASHED

Your registration and participation in the Doggy Dash help the Sacramento SPCA care for more than 5,500 animals annually. Funds raised from this event provide medical care to sick or injured animals, low-cost vaccinations, spay/neuter services for the local community, behavior training, humane education programs and much more!
