What You Get When You Adopt
What Your Adoption Fee Includes
Though it costs over $35 a day to care for each animal, our adoption fees remain modest and affordable. We welcome additional donations as the Sacramento SPCA depends solely on private contributions and receives no government funds.
Happy tales
By adopting a pet from the Sacramento SPCA, you’re creating a happy, new beginning for a deserving animal — and we’d like to hear your success story!
Louis
As I snuggle on the couch, recovering from an appendectomy with
Louis, our new cat, I just had to write to say how thoroughly
happy we are with our new family addition.
Louis, either a Russian Blue or (I think) Korat, is 9 years old
and had some dental issues. He was no spring chicken, but has
turned out to be so gentle and so fun!
He adores playing with his favorite toy – a kite string. He will
play with it until you get tired, then find a box to squeeze
into, or take a nap on your hands while typing. Ha!
Bambino
Hello SSPCA Staff, We adopted a cute little 13-year old boy named Bambino on June 29, and he has been a joy.He has been just what we wanted in a dog. He is very loving and he likes to play with the toys we got him and go on walks down our private road. His favorite toy is a duck with a Davy Crockett hat. He slings that thing around, sometimes throwing it into the air. He sleeps in his own bed on the foot of our bed. If he is the first to wake up, we awake to him looking for eye contact with us.Then, he crawls out of his bed and comes to give us good morning kisses.
