Sacramento SPCA Mission and History

The Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Sacramento SPCA) was established 1894 and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of animals in the Sacramento area. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. It is the mission of the Sacramento SPCA to foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships and saving lives.
